Don’t get burned by flame and fire, Avoid the spit of the funeral pyre My advice to you for when you’re dead, Remember the Devil doesn’t always wear red A culture of fear has taken hold, So that our lives can be controlled Controlled by men who are rich, rich but also poor, With a skin of gold but rotten at the core The fair, honest man has been forgot, Respect and manners left to rot The innocent can be chained in a cell, But only the guilty board the train to hell... The golden age has passed us by, The baby boomers flew so high All the best songs have been done, Gimme Shelter, House of the Rising Sun Blowin’ in the Wind, Strawberry Fields Forever, God Only Knows, 50 Ways to Leave your Lover “The problem is all inside your head She said to me the answer is easy, If you take it logically. I’d like to help you in your struggle to be free, There must be, 50 ways to leave your lover 50 ways to leave your lover”

Lover's Hand 02:29
Wading through the darkness in my mind, Wondering why life can be unkind Now I see this train is sorrow bound, And I am left hanging around For the... ...resurrection of my life, To be rescued from the strife And see the light To hold a lover’s hand In the very moment that we die, You can feel your spirit floating through the sky All those dissipating hopes and dreams Begin to ripple on the silent streams Desperate to... ...reignite my life, To rescue me from the strife Show me the light To hold a lover’s hand
3.
Well you come into my life and you get inside my head, But the only thing you ever do is crash upon my bed, And if you’re looking for salvation, you ain’t gonna find it here, Why don’t you run off to the kitchen; get yourself another beer Well I’m bleeding out my blues you ain’t gonna bring me down, I’m the only one in here who’s fit to wear my crown And if you’re gonna act a fool, you won’t be doing it round here Why don’t you run off to the kitchen; get yourself another beer You don’t really wanna test me, don’t push me to the edge, You don’t want to know what I can do when I’m hanging on a ledge If youre gonna play your games, you won’t be playing them round here Why don’t you run off to the kitchen and get yourself another beer

Mirror Man 03:04
Mirror Man, there on the wall, Mirror Man, he sees it all And his face seems to shine, Whenever I’m feeling fine And the laughter shows Mirror Man, he looks back at me, Mirror Man, he’s everything I could be, And his eyes try to refrain, From showing any pain As the tears flow Mirror Man I smile at you, Smile back at me is all you do The lines on your face show your age, All you want to do is break out of your cage Mirror Man my worries would be few, If I could see from your point of view To see my life through your eyes, Knowing that you can’t tell any lies Mirror Man, he never goes away Mirror Man, I know he’ll always stay
5.
I look back See the track The path I travel Starts to unravel I can’t see, what’s in front of me I don’t believe, in destiny When there comes a storm And the addict’s high When the tears form In a child’s eye Life unfolds Hearts stay closed Let’s stay together To brave bad weather The rise and fall, comes to us all Don’t you hear, the desperate call To be set free And feel the hate no more To fight for liberty In the endless war We can cope, without the dope Look for the things, that bring us hope When the storm will pass And the addict’s clean When we hear the laughs As the child dreams

about

David James Riley follows his debut EP 'Riley' with 'Mirror Man', in which he delivers heartfelt and personal songs in a stripped back acoustic style. Echoes of sixties and seventies singer-songwriters and traditional blues combine with modern indie-folk through insightful lyrics and catchy melody. Minimal production allows David's earnest vocals to shine through and compliment his acoustic guitar picking style on songs such as 'Lover's Hand' and 'The Rise, Fall and Desperate Call', and to capture the rawness of 'Another Beer Blues'.
